AfterGlow

Contributed by hauntedscorp on Tuesday, 24th May 2005 @ 09:03:03 PM in AEST
Topic: abstract

A haunting melody once played tugging at heartstrings
Two lovers frolicking in bed; testing out bedsprings
hands held tight, dreams unfold
warmth seeped in where once was cold
how one inspires they'll never know;
a random sequence of stop and go

Echoes of a child filled with wonder
in the distance a rainbow threatens thunder
somewhere right now a snowflake drops,
and somewhere else still, some champagne pops

Curled up on your side of the bed
lay the answers that flood your head
running on empty a car chugs along
a tank full of hope will never steer you wrong

Feverishly reaching is a lovers grasp
somewhat surprised and excited, she lets out a gasp
how love fills a void some will never know
is it merely directed by ones arrow?

One casts their thoughts in the sands of time
another slowly descends from their orgasmic climb
A flash flood of innocence run amok
paddling in ideas that lightening struck
A ring bearing a promise of truths not told
marvelling in the mystery that will soon unfold....

Hope, wishes, random thoughts and optimism are what keep us living life everyday. I think a cynical, jaded, less than happy person fails at most of the things they try to do because they set themselves up for it, where an optimistic person thinks they will succeed so they strive harder too and generally do. JMHO. But I have seen it happen so much in life.

It does make sense. Each thought compliments the other, and each reflection invites the next. A series of concepts that utilize the talent of one who understands life, and is willing to share it’s beauty with others. Great job.

Wishing that I could write like you
These thoughts may I share with my love I hold true?
You melting away would be a tragedy and my sorrow
So hoping to see more from you tomorrow

Absolutely love your imagination and the imagery in this one, Scorp.
Never stop. Would love to share this one with you know who. :)

I have to say, every word of it made sense. It's the random thoughts that come out the best, or so I've come to find out. Great work, awesome!

"A ring bearing a promise of truths not told
marvelling in the mystery that will soon unfold..."
This makes one realize your conflicting views, yet the overwhelming sensuality, the fervor, the optimism and even doubt brings about a plethora of feelings!

This is very thought provoking!

I'm not sure if this is abstract, but its good, regardless. Admittedly, it is hard for me appreciate poetry that Ryhmes. I probably would have liked this more if it weren't for that.
