she cries in the corner of my soul
A huddled ball of missery
Where is the woman I knew?
She huffs away and slams a door
asks me where I've been
Too shrill to answer I'll just have another beer.
25 long years. Spent and rancid
Asks how my day was
Turns on the TV before I finish the sentence.
We sleep in separate bedrooms
Ask me to love you
So tired I pretend it still matters.
She was the essence of my soul
A vast flame so timeless
Where is the woman that you were?

Hey, jim, Well My personal opinion to this poem, is that yes it is sad, but I am an alchoholic and have been to meetings, maybe if you dident believe it was going to happen the same, and dident open that first, or next beer, and walked right in when she asks how was you day maybe let her know, it was horrible because it was without you, and let her know how you used to feel but how you feel that your drifting apart!good luck Jim! I'll be praying for ya's |
