Little Star Shine On

Contributed by NoSaint on Monday, 23rd May 2005 @ 07:44:00 PM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

The little star shone so bright
Lighting up the darkest night
Those below looked in awe
At what when upward saw

A lightening bug here on earth
Angered by the humans mirth
For with the star shining high
Attention she got was nigh

So the bug flew to heavens height
Looking for the star to fight
Accusing the star of stealing her glory
The scene she made was rather gory

She caused the star to feel so low
She felt she would have to go
But the sun and humans on land
Felt she needed to stay and take a stand

To show this silly little bug
That she was being a total thug
And acting way out of sorts
Truly not being a sport

The lightening bug was acting the twit
And assume she knew what was it
Before she saw the true nature of the star
Who was pure and stronger by far

So shine on if you have clean heart
Don’t let others on you their view depart
For they have no clue
As to what is in the center of you

Very humourful. I give full marks for the imagination that lies behind this little poem.bernard
