Segregation, here we are
Side by side - yet so far
Congregation, standing still
Standing here, against our will
Declaration, I declare
Much is said - but without care
Repression - all our thoughts
Digression - will it stop?
Complication, mutilation
This is us...near damnation
Constitution - our breed unique
Written words for us to speak
"Speak your mind" (or so they say)
But do it quickly and turn away
This is us...civilized
Civil creatures...civil lies
"Look at them, what they've done"
Point the finger - accuse and shun
Is this life worth all the fuss?
After all...it's only us

I have read this over so many times.
[My brain is running amuk with activity, thank you very much! :P]
My reasons for the expansive reads are twofold. One, because
I absolutely LOVE the way this reads aloud. It's brilliant!!
And two, because I adore the way it makes me think.
So much truth and wisdom in here. Couple that with an insight
so deft, that it would have many an intellect pensively pondering,
and you've got yourself an amazing piece of work !!
Wonderfully written. (Glad I found the words to express that...)
