If i could remember you, i would remember the first time I saw the ocean. The way the water stood sharply in the sunlight. The way the tide crashed into the sand; a soft crash lapping the salt and trash and surf from the sand.
If I could remember you, i would like to remember you the way I remember the rain. How it always falls down too slow to pass, but too fast to catch up to. How it always seems to creep into sleep the second I guess that it's there.
If I could remember you, I would remember you the way I remember the Arizona sky. How every tint and hue touched the softest brown stars singing a simple song, singing contrast, singing the empty desert heat.
I think Arizona remembers you best. The vast and stretching sands across a changing sky; the cigarettes hanging over whiskey over black eyes and fallen cowboys reading their dead poetry, reading all their love away.
The rain would stay for months and wash my hair my hands my feet against my tears my cheeks stripped away by the barest, harshest storm, and then, in it's passing, I would sit on a stairwell of a hundred stairs and I would watch the sun cut its own throat and spread it's skin across the sky; I would watch the cars pass by.
I was so young then, so full of new life. Ready for anything. Willing to fly. I met an old man once, a drunk. He stunk of booze and sweat and spoke gently to me, telling me he wanted to die, telling me he just wanted to see his family again.
Then he said something to me that I think I'll always remember.
He said, “Go home, boy. Go Home before it's too late.”
And I laughed at that old man that day, and I called him stupid stinky man,
but I always remembered what he said to me,
and sometimes I think maybe he was more than just a stupid stinky old cowboy drunk on booze and blues, I think he mighta been a man who loved once.
The real love, that only some people ever get to see.
When ever I think of Arizona, that's what I think about. That old man who loved more than I ever will in my whole life. He even loved me.
And I think you got that same love, so I just wanted to say,
Go Home.
Find that love that you love and never let it go...
No matter what.

Very discriptive I could feel the ocean mist and see garbage floating out to sea.
I could smeel his stinky breath and feel the cowboys sadness.
The Arizona skies neverending lost in the hues and blues.
I'm staying home with my love
never to roam.
Wonderful discriptive poem "naw" too tell a story it wasn't too long.
I loved your work of art.
