Thanks For Your Lies

Contributed by sprinter27 on Sunday, 22nd May 2005 @ 08:55:38 PM in AEST
Topic: ThankYouPoems

Thank-you for lying too me
That’s not something many would say
But, without your lies I’d still be weak
Still depending on you for help

Your lies
Have built my strength
It’s time to say goodbye
You’ve done a lot,
But I don’t like liars

You said I was your friend
Nothing could come in between
We’d be friends ‘til the end
Nothing would break us

Ha, ha, lies we should never trust
I did for a bit, and then got hurt
Felt like I fell hard in the dust
Felt like you jabbed a knife into me

But then I got over you
Other friends helped me up
They stayed with me and kept true
Unlike you, who walked away

You lied too many times
I’ve gotten over you
I’ve drawn new lines
Where you’re not needed

You walked away
After you killed me with your lies
But I’m growing stronger day-by-day
Thank-you for lying to me

Wow, what a powerful poem. I am impressed with your resolve to move on. I am sorry that you felt hurt and betrayal from whatever happened but I am glad that you can move on. Stay strong.
