Friends
What is true friendship?
If not love beyond compromise?
A devotion pure of heart
In which no deception lies
Is it not filtered and refined?
Thru self sacrifice and trust
Unselfish and compassionate
Always precious and just
Tho it may lack the fervor
The intense urgings of lovers’ desire
Nonetheless it’s passion
Does sustain and inspire
Buoying the heart it touches
With encouragement along the way
How thankful I am
You’re my friend today!
