Once I held my dreams so dear,
I cherished their insight that they gave;
I awoke each new day with delight,
and used the wisdom to guide my way;
Once I had balance and stability of mind,
I embraced all life and learned from change;
I felt intune with the world around me,
And embellished my soul with great intuity;
But that was once and now it is clear,
I cherish no insight from these new plays;
I cringe at the thoughts and images of fright,
that are now my prison and I their slave;
A darkness has draped over my dreamtime,
to ravish me with visions of torture and pain;
Shadowy delusions that now bombard me,
and tear at the core of my one time sanity;
The power I gained from balance has disappeared,
leaving me now with unrest, day after day;
The wisdom has melted from within my mind,
and what I once charished has now left me in chains.

I like the contrast in this poem.
From one extreme to the other.
This poem is easy to relate, to
There are many times in my life that I have felt this way. But for every up there is a down and visa verso.
Love the Poem...
