Ancestral Grounds

Contributed by Chey on Saturday, 21st May 2005 @ 02:32:10 AM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

My heart on rocky sacred ground
The souls of those who've gone before
Perceived as one whose soul's been found
Today I walk the earth once more.

Apart from familial and sweethearts love
Carried on the moaning wind today
Looking to the farflung stars above
I speak from voices of yesterday.

Water breaks on coldest river rocks
Similar to voices which I hear
Resembling that of flying goose's flocks
Honking on the air so clear.

Recording much as they demand
Staying true to what they say
Standing on this; ancestral land
Strong within myself, this day.

Chey

Thank you for this beautiful poem
Because of our ancestors we were born
We walk above their hollowed ground
In the spirit of earth they are still around
Air wind trees rain in the arc of the rainbow we see and hear their prayerful sound
Thank you again

Sinned

There is nothing like placing your feet on what used to be tribal grounds.. The feelings overwhelm you as the spirit guides bring words and blessings from the ancestors gone long before us. One day to be with them and as one. The universe will then become one.

Peace,
Morning Dove
