Winter comes calling with a chilled voice-
While the other seasons give way without choice-
For icy fingers push all to the side-
Forced away to seek a place to hide…
Spring jumps in to play a fresh new game-
Giving life to plants of numerous name-
Forcing roots deep down to take new hold-
Shaking off winters fridge cold…
Summer shines it’s face in warm delight-
Gone now is winters strength to fight-
Warmth has replaced the chill in the air-
Summer is a season now without a care…
Fall is the season become the reapers slave-
Taking away the life that spring once gave-
Clearing the path for the breath so cold-
Allowing winter to reach out and take hold…

Great poem. But all living things must rest occasionally but die. I see winter as Mother Nature's rest period. The she begins the cycle over again after being refreshed and rested. Autumn is my favorite. The period where she is preparing for rest.
