The tool I use to get feelings out of me
The expansion of my mind, soul, and speech
Poetry
Entertainment for your ears
Telling the truth of the world’s fears
Not what you hear, but what is heard
As graceful as a bird
Floating in the morning sky
Never will it lie
About circumstances, lost chances
New dances for poets to twist and turn
Mess with it and you will get burned
You’ve gotta take a new turn to learn the terms I’m using
To the ignorant its confusing
Not abusing the freedom to talk
To say what you want
To write all day and never front
But fulfilling the right to speak your mind
The effect of using speech and rhymes
To use words and letters to relate to hard times
The thing that means so much to me
The thing that I can call mine
And this thing I call poetry
And I make it all the time

this is the kind of poem that only other writers will understand. i often feel driven to write. It is a very old and established tradition to write poetry about writing poetry; many great wiriters of the past like John Milton and George Herbert wrote poems similar to yours. |

This is really awesome and I have to agree that only another writer will understand what it means. |

Interesting. I believe you could have separated out the flow of the last stanza to make it a little more coherent, but otherwise, this is a workable poem.
And I like it, because its about poetry, which I like too. |
