Dear big brother Ben; when will you learn?
Here's another summer gone by, wondering when you'll return
You got caught up in the darkside yet again;
and now you're sitting in a 4 by 6 pen...
I don't mean to ream you out; but I can't ignore
you've given us (yet again) ANOTHER encore
Paralyzed by fear, I want to run from the pain
Why is it you do this? What is it you gain??
Please Ben, I beg you, please stop, WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH
Just come to us for support; we can be your crutch
Panicking that one day I'll hear 'shots fired'
Dreading a call that tells me my brothers expired
My brother, I don't know what else to say; I just hope you'll listen
as I sit here and write this plea my eyes start to glisten
We all want to see you make a change before it's too late;
and now for your reply I'll anxiously await....

I hope he can straighten his life up this time. It is all up to him, but it doesn't stop us from the pain we feel inside ourselves or for him.

| Heartfelt write. It's like that saying - "the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result." (Something I should tell myself, I guess.) hope he sees the light. Good job on the poem. J. |

| Scorp, it takes a lot to share something like this with all of us. Of cousre it will provoke our own thoughts of similar situations that maybe someday I will share with you but right now none of that. Just want to thank you for the emotionally powerful write & thank you for sharing. Hope that he is the number one fan of this poem. |
