Scribbler of Dreams

Contributed by FleurdeSang on Friday, 20th May 2005 @ 03:19:24 PM in AEST
Topic: abstract

Fresh new page, untainted by my blood,
My ebony expressions… poetic release…
Pen in quivering hand,
Inhalation of stale pollution,
And I write…

Mind lost in piles of paper fantasies and moonlit illusions,
Dense forests of humid recollections,
Inspiration waiting to be found everywhere,
My eyes dancing along the contours of each letter,
Tongue savoring every syllable,
Subliminal messages hidden deep within meaning,
“I love you,” whispered through a tender caress…

Exposed,
With every word I bleed on my pallid canvas,
Images painted by expertly scarred hands,
Exquisitely distorted, as trails of liquid sorrow kiss the pictures of surreal insanity,
And all becomes one massive blur…

Death tip-toes along the crevices of my mind,
Silent, stealthy, singing softly of a blissful end,
Yet, it is not for me,
Only for my spinning pen to weave,
His web of morbid beauty and nightmarish grandeur…

Hope shoves Death aside, cutting his hymn into thousands of pieces,
Hanging elegantly in the air, trill notes of anguish,
And finishing the melody with crooning violins and tranquil pianos…
Symphonies of euphoria…

Resonating operatic drones, voices kept at bay for the sake of sanity,
Overwhelming torrents of tale after tale,
Screaming for recognition,
Demanding for my blood and paper…

Scent of roses dying in the wind,
Thoughts of my lover rekindling within,
Smoldering flames of passion,
Consuming me without remorse…
And I perish…

Within my words of beauty and decay,
Reincarnation initiates,
I live… once more…

Wow Steph that was a wonderful idea for a
poem. Just written with such beauty and
grace and this line just stunned me, "Images
painted by expertly scarred hands" that was
just awesome and this whole poem hit me
about as hard as a stun grenade. And the
last stanza about how you are reincarnated
by your words that was just awesome as well
and so well put.

Bobo (Joel)
