Love Letters

Contributed by Jaycee on Friday, 20th May 2005 @ 02:25:43 PM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

desk drawer is full
with meaningless stuff
last year's receipts
my son's hilary duff

i wish they were filled
with emotions so sweet
parchment and ink
blended into a treat

looking into the mirror
am i really that bad
living life alone
does not make me glad

i had always scoffed
when presented to me
concept that a woman needed
man to live happily

now i do feel this
need for completeness
but my heart has burst
leading me to the abyss

i stand poised to fall
cause i can't make it better
i would turn back
for just one love letter

Good poem. I would gladly write you a love letter but you may choose to discard it.

I don't think we need a man to be happy, but I do believe that it does help complete us. No all mind you, some live happily without a partner. But I miss mine and would like to have another someday. Even going through everything we went through, I would do it all over again, even knowing the outcome. Someday I will find another love, because it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved. Cliche? Yes definitely, but true in my life. Rita

I have to agree with Dove... having a man around makes life sweeter, but it would take something else to complete me..... (Unfortunately......let's not go there)...

That's a good write, Jaycee. Yes, I believe that ol' cliche' it is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved before but to love again is really cool too. Just my humble opinion: Living alone and lviing with someone both have their upsides & downsides. However, I would rather love & live with someone than be alone. Guess I could babble on forever about this subject but will just leave it alone for now. Hmmm...there's that word alone again. lol...miss her hairs in my brush and on my sink, her toothbrush next to mine....oops, I'm yammering again. Okay, anyway, again, nice write. Keep 'em comin' :)
