Eyes of the heart

Contributed by DanishPoet on Friday, 20th May 2005 @ 08:47:49 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I listen to your voice
but you don't say a thing.
I don't know your life
and what secrets you might bring.
And that is fine with me,
there are things I don't need to know.
But if you ever need to talk,
then you'll always know where to go.

I don't want you to hold me tight,
even tough I miss you in the night.
If you wanna make me happy,
and that i somehow think you do,
then start by trusting me a little,
and let me see a smile on you.

The only happiness I have,
Is the one I see in you.
It only matters little,
why you smile the way you do.
As long as you're not hurt,
I can live my life this way.
But if you say you need me,
You know that I will always stay.

You see, I see you perfect through my eyes,
and not once, did you fool me with simple lies.
No matter if you run away and turn your back on me,
be certain that you are
the only thing my heart will see.

This is so beautiful and true. The happiness of the one we love should be first and foremost in our hearts and minds. I like the way you look at this. Great write.

Smiles,
Rita

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
