Why does all this hurt have to be??

we came together and we loved eachother
we treated eachother with respect
but then somewhere along the lines
we lost all sight of it
i hurt you, but you loved me still
i hurt you again and again
i hurt you over and over but still
you promised youd be there till the end
you hurt me each and every day
you hurt me in so many ways
but never did i once take back
that id love you forever and always
i hurt you because you hurt me
and you did just the same
and we both knew what we where doin' to eachother
was stupid and insaine
i love you
and you love me
and that why i just dont see
why all this hurt has to be.

Yes dear friend that recalls "The double-edged sword" of love. There are hurts that have to be overcome like gold is refined in fire.
No triumphalism in love that is true and meant to grow. and become stronger.
PS I commented on two of your poems but did not appear, have to redo when I get a chance.

this was a heartfelt poem and was very well writen, yes in any relationship there will be hurt but you know its there and that is the first thing you need to do to change. your words in this were well used and the flow and structure made it easy to read. well done. I am looking forowrd to reading more of your stuff later. Be well.
