Behind each bush, each tree, each brook
They await you
Hand and foot
You crawl across the grassy plains
Crouching, prowling
Moving over dark terrain
You're brave and fierce
As dark and night
Your will, your strength
Put up the fight
As the thunder hits the sky
Death confronts you
Eye to eye
Instead of running
Head and Tail
You stick it out
And do not bail
Your victor has come
The Union is one
The days deaths are done

War is hell and you have done very well to convey that. |
