After The Gunfire Finally Dies Down.

Moments roaming,
Silence.
The sound of wind passing
over the tops of topless trees.
Passing sand.
The river as
it sways like a dancer
and makes its way up
on land.
A dozen black birds flying
into the horizon.
Stars exploding...
Echoes...
The world as it does
another lazy spin.
A plane passing over head...
The bitter air of long
dwindling regret...
A snapping sound as musket
falls,
and breaks in half.
The crackling of fire...
The hissing of sparks...
a train that
travels many miles away.
There are a hundred sounds...
On the battle ground...
But apparently...
Nothing much
else
to
say...
