WEEKEND

Contributed by jyssvw22 on Thursday, 19th May 2005 @ 12:19:59 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Yesterday was the Sabbath
The day of rest I’m told
Yet why does my mind keep telling me
This practice of irony is getting old
In the meantime this week will unfold
And the futuristic battle for my soul
Will commence its start so bold

The Wednesday which caused this pain
Originated in the gloomy Tuesday rain
The courage one needs to remain
Afloat in the sea of debris and salt
A promise one made, to the one, one loves
A dedication that stays
On the shores of safety
Where no monsters can come

Elegantly said, the waiter agrees
The order for sainthood
The sword swoops by on his knees
A near accident in the great hall
His ear severed by the relic claw
The sirens that sounded
He knelt bleeding in awe
The Friday that cursed him
Was the thirteenth he saw

Today the Sunday of the night
The momentary flight
Of the mosquito that bites
And pricks the blood of your skin
As the drinking begins
A sacrificial lamb burns
The earth must spread its pollen
As it continually turns

Jyss; this is such a deep, dark write. You always amaze me in new ways...I'm so sorry to hear you've been hurt so badly. *hugs*
Scorp.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
