When we were young together...
I never will forget
Columbia, the schoolyard
in childhood where we met
Our humble homes and dearest times,
their sorrow and there joys
are awakened to the grand sublime
from when you and I were boys.
And as we grew
though not together,
some friends we had before
like leaves of autumn weather
are gone forever more
How blest we were to age alike
thought time our life destroys
and takes our memories
from here to Heaven
from when you and I were boys.

Billy so beautifully written with the reminders of our youthly friendships. Nicely written and conveyed. Keep up the great work.
