I very happy that you love God
But please stop trying to save me
It makes me feel so very odd
When you make me try to see
I have my own thoughts and beliefs
But you keep saying I'm wrong
I don't feel any relief
To admit I'm not strong
Stop trying to save me from myself
I'll believe what I want to believe
Why don't you help yourself?
Let my happiness be what I achieve
I don't read the bible every day
I don't pray to God every night
I don't live my life your way
So just please get out of my sight
I know deep down you care
But I'm just not like you
So let us leave it there
Let this be through
I don't want to be saved
I just want to live my life
I refuse to be swayed
So, stop causing my strife

amen to that!! this is exactly why I do not attend any organized churches I do my own thing and have my own belief be who you are the important one knows us very well and loves us just the way we are that is the God as I know him great write!!

This is very cool, I really like to see people that believe and do their own thing.
Religion/belief is a personal agenda and that is what makes it good, but others trying to be human gods making every one else feel as if they are less if they don't believe, is just wrong.
I hope you the best of luck, searching for whatever that is that you are..Great job on the poem too

| This is a nice little witty poem, I like it. I do wonder why you go to church if you don't like to be preached at. It's a shame that in some country like America and some of the muslim countrys there is no really way to get away from relegion as it has such a powerfull part of your life effecting laws and government. I think Europe have the right idea with keeping religion and state very seperate. Religions sould be there if people want them but they should play no part in the lives of people who don't. cool poem, keep writing. |
