Distorted Concepts

Contributed by FleurdeSang on Wednesday, 18th May 2005 @ 04:34:23 PM in AEST
Topic: abstract

There are terrors in the soul that resemble children.
Cold appears in the mind, and suddenly everything freezes.

Clamor of voices,
Elastic tears streaming from the valley,
Eternal springs within these liquid amber eyes,
Lamentations of the sky,
Washing away every sin,
Brushing off the dust of memories,
Pain detains its repetitious march,
And I am left in thunderous silence…

Voices claw the sanity,
Ethereal joys of a forgotten love,
Remembering.... remembering....
Fleeting, gone in a dying breath,
Shudders of desire consume me,
And you,
A dot of oil in water,
Sleep within the poet's mind...

Nostalgia grows like a flesh eating disease,
Devouring my mortal skin,
Mutton dry and useless,
No supper tonight...
Swim along the shores of dreams,
Embrace the loneliness,
And succumb to flirtatious darkness...

Death sleeps in the dawn and your eyes nap with yearning in the sand of my soul...
Tick-tock tick-tock of Father Time,
Constant reminders telling me to live,
A laughing corpse that pretends to exist,
Murmurs of evitable defeat,
An angel lays thrown down on the floor,
Broken...

Dry leaves trace a road of illusion and fantasy,
A smile of forget wrinkles your face,
You don't remember me...
The twins at the end of the tunnel tell me to turn back,
Dust and dead eyelashes of morbid beauty collecting,
Under depthless eyes of crimson terror...

Lunar promenades, lustful masquerades,
Faces hidden behind folly and hoax,
The opera has yet to begin,
And the moon sighs a tale of deceptions...
The voice of silence marks my diary,
And the laces that tie down the bridge
Awaken, overwhelmed by the presence of the same...

The rain falls and the cold grows,
Like a murmur of white mud.
My hands draw a name
And the night rains dark colors,
Of you...

Damn this was creepy. The first line just
wow it deserves to be repeated at least once.

"There are terrors in the soul that resemble children."

Wow what a line to start off a poem. I just am
in awe of this whole poem and any words I
utter in praise could never do this poem
justice never mind capture the depth of this
write. Wow Steph you definitely have a natural
talent.
