You can't see me, but I'm there,
Standing off in the shadows,
Just watching if life treats you fair.
I know you can't see me,
You don't know I'm there,
But that's how I want it to be.
I know it took so long to understand
That we were through;
I guess it wasn't the way I'd planned.
I think you deserve better than me,
And I hope you find him,
But you know how life is, so we'll see.
Meanwhile, though, you won't see me,
I'll be hiding in the darkness,
Just a shadowed memory....
