Learning How To Pray

Contributed by Poetryanimal on Tuesday, 17th May 2005 @ 10:44:30 PM in AEST
Topic: spiritual

Weary is the traveler
that wanders here and there
without a bit of hope or peace
and surely without prayer.
Weary is his wardrobe
he wears to justify
the way his inside has become,
but yet it's just a lie.
Weary is his viewpoint,
for really he can't see
the dismal way his travels led
to make a firm decree.
Saying that because he traveled
he cannot be tamed,
for the weary traveler thinks
he can't be different named.
I once was the weary traveler
that surely could not see,
that Jesus Christ could use my travels
to make a better me.
Weary is the traveler
that does not change his view,
because it's just a mere facade
that thinks they cannot do.
Cannot is a word of weakness
that ones say too much
that keeps a weary traveler using
his past just like a crutch.
Don't let the past to fool you
and leave you there today.
Change yourself from weary traveling
by learning how to pray.

very good writing.
A person can pray in many forms. Prayer certainly makes it come out in God's will.
huggs,
emy

Your poem is so wonderful. Maybe we wouldn't end up on that weary road if we'd do it a little more often. Thank you so much for sharing this. SharonM
