Ennui

Contributed by bethie on Tuesday, 17th May 2005 @ 12:03:59 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Sleeping behind my screen
resisting to be awoken
but there are places that
I have never seen
languages yet to be
spoken

You painted my portrait;
and begged me to look,
I refused to see it,
prefering an obsolete
book.

I would like to make
a film together,
one about time and space;
upon a chair of white leather,
I sit in a gown made of
black lace.

This case of curiosity
craves for a change of pace;
An antidote for my ennui:
another fantasy to chase.

Whoa! That was really, really good! It was quite unique from what i usually read. I'm especially fond of the imagery in your third stanza, with the black lace on white leather chair. A very striking write, Keep up the great writing. dw

Excellent! The language and imagery are both very well done, invoking a highly poetic, and even a bit mysterious, feel. Keep it up!
