The Day My World Ended

Topic: SadPoetry

He said "you wont like what your going to hear"
She cried at the words, because this was her biggest fear
He said they needed time apart
She swore the world could hear her breaking heart
Tears ran down fast, she could not speak
They never stopped, they continue to leak
He said she had been to mean
She Hung up the phone hoping it was a dream
She thought of the razor and the pills
Knowing both wonderful things kill
But then she herd the phone ring and knew it was him
For him she would stay strong, she would not sin
He told her that he loved her and started to cry
The pain that she caused him made her want to die
She wanted to beg, to plead, but it would do no good
She tried to get up, to get away, but was dizzy when she stood
I love you too she struggled threw her tears
All she wanted was for him to hold her, to be near
She hung up the phone angry at herself for losing her love
She screamed I hate you at the top of her lungs
She stopped herself because she knew she could never hate him
Before he stepped into her life it was bleak and dim
She wanted him, no needed him in her life
He made her feel better in her time of strife
She thought of the pain that hurt deep inside
She knew it would never subside
So there would be no point to suicide
She would never hear his voice if she died
He called again and her heart skipped a beat
She ran to the phone tripping over her feet
She herd his voice and began to cry
The was no point in hiding her tears, no reason to lie
They spoke almost as if they were still together
And she promised him she'd remember him forever
With that they said good bye
And once again she broke down and started to cry

This is an interesting way of writing...but not necessarily bad. A couple of lines are a bit choppy, but it's a great poem.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
