My closure

Topic: oops

This story is mine and these words are my song,
what once was right now seems my wrong.

This is my closure, I'm looking for peace.
Finally I'll set my mind at ease.

We made it all last one day short of a year,
how incredibly fast our forever drew near.

and so history repeats itself once again,
does that stage actually exist where boys become men?

Wait...did I say it's my wrong? Because it's yours.
The awful things you said behind closed doors.

Don't try to change your story because that's not fair,
you broke me without compassion so don't pretend to care.

The truth behind the I love you's is inevitably gone,
how faded now our star that brightly shone...

I'm tired of being hurt and if that's what love includes
than I don't want to be loved because I don't want to be used.

This is the end of us, all that's left is you and I,
No more "our", now there's just the "your" and "my".

I told you all the things that had to be said,
but now I'm writing down what's still in my head.

I need to end this for me, to help me move on,
I need this to be my closure, to be my song.
