Broken Halo

Contributed by Man_On_High on Sunday, 15th May 2005 @ 10:09:34 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

I respond to your voice in my head..
succumb to it's will,
and put pen to paper.

To ignore is not an option...
(lest the miserable battle remains)

Once quiet nights are drowned
in loud music
and the sound of keystrokes
as the night falls..
slain by the sun
and the understanding
I pray for dies.

I lost my pen..
drowned my demons in alcohol
and threw away my halo
as I continued through the empty night.

Don't imply what I already know-
I spend hours trying to forget
as my cries for you
traverse each night
with hollow echoes...
while my broken halo aluminates
memories of us

M.O.H.

Poignant desolation mixed with futile hope? This is written so well. You write with a quill of gold.

It takes much strength to muster the emotion and the wits
to extract from the heart a rite of passage ..

Your bravery to, not only face an emotion, but to write it down
with such an adacious clarity astounds me. Again and again.

I feel you in this one. I see you in it. So painfully clear ..
I know this must be a sad remembrance, but somehow,
I find beauty here. And, oddly enough, a comfort.
