Worldly Possession

Compare the mountain of my love to Everest
Seemingly, a lessened mountain it would be
It does not touch the heavens like I
And my kindling passion for you
Alters volcanoes into ash pits
Contained all within my chest
The sea, the alternative sky
Where all my love is drowned
Caresses the isles of your body
And the green blanket of the land
May tickle your bare feet
And I am every fiber of grass
Like the trees, my hands elevate to the sky
And praise the good Lord
For the breeze you breathe
The sun may keep you warm
But you it will not bolster
And my arms won’t flame but comfort
The wind will surely enclose you
Yet from it you remain free
Like I, wishing freedom
And the lamp of love for you
It’s mere in the light of suns
But close to you I shine bright
The heavens
They abyss
Both hold my love for you
My love’s unfit
Plagues sweet evil
Sustains the good of man
By all, it lives in totality.
