Shadows stirring behind that door
Made me remember that fall
When we sat by the river
Watching a beaver
Crunching a wood
We weren't in a great mood
But that really made my day
As we sat on the hay
Just watching
Not talking
Back to back
Feelin' the warmth creep up to my neck
The cod breeze tickled us so hard
We started laughing but remembered that card
The one which told you to go abroad
Sent by the man who once called
Saying a talent you have musn't go to waste
Suggested you go there in a haste
Given a scholarship you just can't miss
Even though how much you'd dissed
I know you want to
Go for it
As much as I'd miss you
Okay it is
' Don't worry', I'd said
But deep inside I know it wouldn't be
But it's you I must persuade
Now you're finally back
That was your shadow, what the heck
