Who am I?

Contributed by girish on Sunday, 15th May 2005 @ 02:42:53 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Hai girish! People call me by my name
Calling me by my job title is almost the same
Dear big brother, a call from my sister that came
To the self, all these adds only a frame

For any ailments, I cannot say ‘I`m back/hip/leg pain
Happiness is even the outcome of feelings running thru the vein
Such feelings sprout on events from the soul`s main
One`s Athman is the source that will again retain

Body and mind are temporary stores for the Athman
Our emotions / feelings dwell here for the entire life-span
If happiness also remains here for the entire duration
Why don`t we experience happiness until our termination

My body is disfigured due to a major accident
Still my Athman is inside which was the condition precedent
With the existing condition itself I should make myself more potent
So that like Athman, happiness also remains here permanent

After the accident my body presently has scars as remark
Alas! To find one`s Athman if there will be any mark?
In the running life, to find thyself, can Athman have any park?
And if its for eyesight, will Athman differ, if its day or dark?

Girish

I voted and gave you a three,
but then; who is me ?
I must admit all I couldn't understand.
For you see I am a simple man.
An accident ?
I am sorry to hear.
I pray happiness is still present.
It is said we are given no more than we can bare.
Girish you are forever in my prayer.
You have so much to offer.

Please keep posting

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
