My Inner Diva

Contributed by dtborchert on Friday, 13th May 2005 @ 10:32:25 AM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

I was out on the town,
Driving along,
When to my surprise,
I burst out in song.

The words came out
At the top of my lungs,
What was I saying?
Am I speaking in tongues?

Do I know this song,
Have I heard it before?
My subconscious sure does,
And this song it adores.

You need to hang on,
And please get a grip.
Gosh don’t start dancing,
And don’t you dare strip.

Singing and dancing,
No hands on the wheel,
Still I can’t fathom
This song’s great appeal.

What am I doing?
Oh for heaven’s sake.
What is that beeping?
Damn, now I’m awake.

Great peom. you wrote it well and struck me as really cute. Don't you love it when there's a song you just have to sing to and you don't even know what the song is saying?
