Older sister, older sister
Why can’t I be like you?
Why can’t I think like the wise one,
And do what she does too?
You’ve made the same mistakes as me
But still I’ve yet to learn,
That I must pay attention
In order to get what I yearn.
Older sister, older sister
There’s things you must teach.
In order for me to know
You must continue to preach,
The things that are important
In a young girl’s life
Like knowing when to let go
And knowing when to fight.
Older sisters, older sisters
There’s nothing like them
But they must be cherished,
Because each one is as rare as a gem.
Sometimes they’re hard to stand,
Sometimes you love them to death.
But always remember
They’re your sister to your last breath.
