I wonder when you’ll miss me,
A figment now, somebody you used to know…
Lingering in your memory, faded by now,
Wandering to other corridors,
Checking closed doors, seeing what’s inside,
Finding only emptiness,
I won’t be remembered here…
And I wonder when you’ll miss me,
The love that we shared,
Under winking stars and pale moonlight…
The gentle touch of my fingertips,
Caressing tales of undying sentiment…
Do I ever dance within your dreams?
Does the scent of jasmines bring you back,
Back to the eluding recollection that I am?
Is she so beautiful, inside as well as out,
That I could never compare?
Tell me, darling, are you happier,
Now that I’m gone?
I try to push it away with indifference,
I try to remind myself to hate you,
But a heart never forgets the touch of love,
And the mind contradicts with it, leaving only cold, merciless truth…
You left me for her… your newly crowned Queen…
Cast aside, broken, worthless,
Tattered at the seams,
I thought I was over you,
Past all the sorrow and hurt,
Past all my memories of you…
But today your name was whispered,
By a faceless voice hidden deep within my mind,
And, beneath a thousand seas, I drowned,
In thoughts of lost love, songs of you…
And I wonder when you’ll miss me,
I wonder when you’ll shed a tear…
I wonder when you’ll realize,
That the purest of love ever given,
Was by me…

That was beautiful, I know how you feel, I'm kind of going through a
similar thing, except perhaps I'm the idiot not with the right person.
You captured feelings beautifully. The second last stanza was my
favorite. Nice work!

| WOW! I was really drawn into this poem, you really got it going, and really are able to get the picture out there for the reader ( me ) to see what really is going on , I like that about poems, some of the poems have you going around in circles, which are good ones as well, but you really got to use your thinking on those sometimes, this poem was just laid out there, saying here I am, this is what is going on, no need to try to hide anything, or go around about to make it confusing for you the reader which was me understood you very well, great job, loved it, thank you.

Absolutely amazing! I loved this poem. It literally grabbed onto me and pulled me into it. I felt like i was in your shoes. This poem, is just beautiful. It sent chills through my entire body. I can't wait to see more like this. I haven't been here in a while but looking at this poem gives me reason to come back.

Oh my dear friend how these words tore at my heart. It was as if I had wrote them myself but never as expressive as you write. A love from the past that comes back to haunt you. A name mentioned to bring up past hurt. A love that will live on in your heart always. Never to fade away like a rainbow.

If it is any consolation (and I doubt it is) it
takes me a long time to get over someone. I
though this poem was beautiful with its
touching sadness. The whole poem stood
out and I don't think I could pick out a favourite
line. This poem was honest and sometimes
honesty helps carry us through the pain.
