In the dawn of a new age
there are no parameters...
the world torn from the womb
of deities aborted and jettisoned
under a blood red sky-
there are no sunsets here.
The mornings dark and unnatural
perish into lurid afternoons
wasted and forgotten.
Bedlamatic nighttime demons
chuckle in their sleep
dreaming dreams of insurgence
and scourge:
scenes of rape in the pleasance
by things that should not be,
dead abandoned buildings
and bloodstained streets.
Colossal grief 'round the Throne on high
as we drown in the "waters of Lethe"
under a dying moon,
it's undiscernible light corrupt-
commanding the all new
peccant order of chaos
as we enter the procession
in the dawn of a new age.

This makes life seem so frightening. I have simplified my life so much and I suppose I live in a self-induced utopia. But I love it in my pleasant world where there is just love and care. I yearn for simpler times and for progress to step back and come to a grinding halt. It cost is too high for the human race. Our children and elderly are starving and abused and left alone. It hurts me inside and it is all because of progress or the powerful and greedy people. JMHO
Peace

your third stanza definantly stood out to me. and the only reason why was the verse itself. the rhyme in other words. your use of the beginning line as the ending line was very effective. full circle transition, nice. i think i would rather like to go back to the old ages... ::stops rambling and hits the send button:: |

Okay sweets .. I had read this before, [several times] and had not yet the wits about
me to comment- all I could muster was, holy HECK this is dark!! lol Now, coming back
after many reads, one word sticks foremost in my mind~ Armageddon.
..and the victor, so it would seem in this case, was evil. How very unfortunate, but
what an intensely masterful piece of work this is !! The last stanza is so positively
gripping .. the line, “under a dying moon, it's undiscernible light corrupt-" almost
brought me to tears. Such a ghastly and unspeakable fate for this existence. The
imagery is outstanding and the emotion this write evokes is undeniable!
I must be mad .. I quite enjoyed this one. lol
