This can't be Me!

Contributed by dreamer_for_eternity on Wednesday, 11th May 2005 @ 09:42:25 PM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

I never meant to be like that
To think of it makes me ill
How could I have been like that?
Under my own free will!

I’m not so sure anymore
If I can enjoy each day
With how I acted haunting me
Day after day after day…

What was my motivation?
Why did my sub-conscious control?
Is that my personality,
That occupies my heart and soul?

If it is,
I want to start over.
Put the three-leaf away
Get a four-leaf clover.

Do not feel sorry for me
For feeling like this,
I deserve to wait a while,
For a life of smooth harmony and bliss.

Someday I will go back to normal,
But right now regrets having its attack,
So don’t be surprised if you see me
Head turned toward the past, watching my back.

Sometimes reality comes back and slaps you in the face, but that's a good life lesson. Your not a horrible person you know, everyone makes mistakes and has regrets in their lives. The main thing is, you've learned to take off the rose colored glasses and see the truth. I don't know your situation or what you think you did wrong, but I hope you won't keep kicking yourself. Your not alone on the regret and shame highway, we're all here with you. Good writing! Sharon

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
