***I HATE MY BODY***

Contributed by in2thetwilightzone on Wednesday, 11th May 2005 @ 03:15:52 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

My shell,
the fibres of my being,
the life that supports my mind,
the food that feeds my brain,
yet my body and i are so detatched,
in different dimensions,
yet caught in the same hell,
my body is my pain,
my trauma,
my madatory torture,
the hatred i feel for my body overides me with anxiety and anger.
every time i see it i burst into tears,

if gods hands were to pass over every womans silk curves,
he would have missed me,
if he were to cure every womans skin,
he would have poisoned me,
and unlike a flower blooms in the day and closes in the night,
my body is wrapped and hiden in clothes in the day,
never to be seen except for when bathed,
and bathing is this my pains gaulish muse,
and subconciously escaped from at night,
i am not ugly,
as i am a beautiful person in my mind,
i am not fat,
i just look at pictures of perfect women in magazines and think,
why dont i look like that?,
why cant i just be normal like everyone else?
and of course,
where are the spots on their bums!?

Jazz

i'll comment on what everyone else will probably comment on first... but in my way of thinking... the phrase 'God gave you the body he gave you' to me that sounds like the pessimistic way of looking at it, like saying 'hey, you're stuck with that body, deal with it' but my optimistic phrase is 'You got the body you got, it'll always be your body, but you can change it'... with that said, i'm in the same boat as you, I'm no Vin Diesel myself, if Vin Diesel and Chris Farley had a kid, that'd be weird, but it'd probably look like me lol... but if theres something you want to change you have the tools to do it yourself, just gotta find them... now... i'll look at this in the mind's eye ways of it... to me it sounds more like, in the poem anyway, by body you mean life, and you want in a change in your life, like you see where your life is going and don't want it to head that way.... but thats just what i got from the poem, could be right, but its possible that it really is about your body lol.... wouldn't be the first time i was wrong... anyway, good write nonetheless

Everybody alive and probably some of the dead, hate their bodies. It's universal! But, I can understand your feelings. I have alot of things I detest about my body. I just do the best i can, to fix what i can, and go on. And also magazines air brush those peoples inperfections away. You are the normal one, and out of magazines they are too...SharonM
