INSIDE THAT CHILD
Inside that child lies wonder, for all the days to come.
Hopes and dreams, pranks and schemes, living for the day, and then some.
Inside that child lies goodness, a yearning to see the light.
Knowing nothing of angry words, hurt, lies, distrust or hate.
Seeing only good in this world , seeing it all, and it all looks great.
Inside that child lies music, to bedazzle the world, Can’t wait!
There’s songs and books, pictures and poems, on hold for a future date.
Inside that child lies everything, we hoped would be there and more.
Compassion and strength, courage and faith, just waiting to open the door.
Inside that child lies our future, they carry all the best in us.
Needing only a smile of encouragement, unconditional love and trust.
Inside is the magic of life, before it’s tarnished and tore.
No sorrow, no heartache, no worry, they spread their wings to soar.
Our job is to open our hands, let them be all they can be.
Don’t smother them with good intentions, or false securities.
Let them soar as high as the mountains, but be there when they fall.
They’ll grow to giant proportions, they’ll stand like ten feet tall.
Remember that life is about chances, fate, luck and opportunity.
If it’s true we lead by example, then it’s up to us what they’ll be.
I want them to flourish and be happy, also be wise and free.
I want all of this for them you see,
For inside that child lies me.

Very Touchin write..
So much emotions flow out of you ...Nice...
A Child is a masterpiece, Even when you are the adult,
that child never leaves you,
I know this to be true.. My children are my life..
Instill the best you can in a child because someday they will grow up to be you..

Oh Sharon, this poem is absolutely beautiful, I had goosebumps while reading it. You are so wise, and observant, also very reasonable. What a marvelous thinker you are. You are so right, everything we do has an affect on our children. We have to be so careful to set the right example. I just saw a quote the other day, "Each day we are depositing good or bad in our children's memory bank!
I love this poem, and your poetry is very touching, and that makes it even more wonderful.
Warm love
