my penniless old wish
i'm like all these cold fish
with long gazing eyes
cold stares at the skies
my morning is pale grey
tree silhouette say
what do you want God?
my bark and a soft nod?
so my colors do blend
to madness descend
kaleidoscope faces
my head's in dark places
this basement is cold
my warmth i have sold
to bugs and disease
no leaves on my trees
she's my cold turkey
i need her my turnkey
to bring me to life
unlocking warm light...
...cause i'm in a cellar.

This was a good write but it took me two reads to capture everything in it. You write so much right now its much enjoyed. I’ve had writers block and haven’t been able to put anything out. the last stanza was good and had a deeper meaning in a way. well done on this one. Take care my friend and keep writing….Steve |
