Answers No One Seeks

Topic: SadPoetry

Eyes wide open
To ward off the slumber that spitefully carries
Horrific visions of pain and suffering.
Eyes wide shut
To shield them from the tragic love story my life has created.
One at a time
Either open or shut
Never consecutively
Unless to blink away the waterfall
That has taken up refuge in the dark holes
That bear my soul to the world,
Although no one has ever bothered to look
Or consider the things that take place
In the resourceful bump between my shoulders
That he says contains nothing
But worthless memories of the blunders
I so helplessly commit
Day after day,
Year after year,
Until the day I die,
When the daughter that he feels is
Such a disgrace
Will be swept off the earth
And drowned eternally
By the waterfall that floods the window
That leads to the house of answers
Which no one seeks.

I am so suprised that no one else has commented! Very, very good. A dark, sad poem but well done. I like the use of 'normal' descriptions..."the bump between my shoulder"....and how many daughters in this day and age feel the same anguish toward the man that fathered them. Really, really good. Thanks for sharing!
