The Flame Of Love

Contributed by white_tiger on Tuesday, 10th May 2005 @ 08:48:17 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

this is a boy/girl poem....the italics are the girl and the other is the boy. hope u like it!!!

Those eyes that I can picture are full of sadness as well
Thoughts that lay unspoken, when we’ll speak only time will tell
Questions lay unanswered; nothing is ever the same
Guilt reflected in both our eyes; who is to take the blame?

Our life was going so well; what turned out to be so wrong?
Harmonious tunes we once were singing; now forever gone
What made you get so angry; what wound can I not heal?
Above all of heaven’s constraints, don’t I have the right to conceal?

Confusion fills my mind, every day and every night
Only you face I can see, dancing I the moonlight
But those days have passed, not waiting for us anymore
However hard I try, I just can’t open the key to your door.

I tried to tell you so many things, but you just walked away
Sleepless nights, feeling all alone, nothing left to say
Life doesn’t hold any value, what’s there to live for now?
Nothing to hold onto; to climb over the barriers, I don’t know how.

Barriers of vengeance separated us; how do we break them down?
My mouth never holds a smile; all it does is frown
I don’t have the strength anymore; I just feel tired and faint
Why did I make that big mistake; why do I feel so quaint?

Distances do us apart; over the land and beyond the sea
That man that loves you dearly; how I wish that could be me
Though we’re standing close to each other, at heart we walk alone
Like two birds that were together, but one’s gone, he flown.

Everyday I picture your smile, when I see my husband’s face
My own mind completely going into a blur, a dim, a haze
It still seems like yesterday you were standing at my door
Wounds my beloved gave me, wounds my heart do boar.

And though we may be so far apart, lost in a sea so wide
Though we may never see each other, nor meet each other’s side
I know that you are with me, in every challenge that I endeavour
For I will keep the flame of our love burning, forever and ever.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
