In a dusty old attic,
There's a torn sunrise.
Cobwebs that cover,
And bury what lies.
A bloodied river runs,
Into a moldy sea.
Malady claims,
A slaughtered tree.
A face in the shadows,
Aphotic as coals.
A thoughtless mind,
An empty soul.
Rain pours down,
Out of a faded sky.
Falling on flowers,
Untouched and dry.
A forgotten figure,
Upon a hill.
Stands all alone,
And forever will.
For no one has found it,
Or called it their own.
An abandoned painting,
Left all alone.
Day after day,
As the years go by.
In the dusty old attic,
All alone it shall lie.

What a beautiful write for a dark poem and very well written as well. This is the first of your writes I’ve viewed. Thank you for your comments on mine and I’m glad I read your work. Things are busy over here in Iraq right now but I’ll try and read more when I have time. I can feel the dark side of this write as well but it just flows so well and is written so strong that I can’t help but admire it. Take care….Steve
