Misplaced People

Contributed by ForeverAndADay on Tuesday, 10th May 2005 @ 08:07:33 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

The gates have been risen...
The walls have been knocked down...
Here in the halls of the forsaken...
We walk like the shadows which slipped
Into the cracks in the ground.

This place is getting bigger.

The stars have been swallowed.
The beast that blends with the dark
of the sky.
In his eyes, reflects what is left
Of the stolen morning light.

The beast and this place keep getting bigger.

The rivers flow with rivulets of blood.
We cannot suck the water for it's spoiled.
With crimson pockets of draining life...
We touch our fingers to the bed in hopes
that they might grab hold of something
Worth the take...
To carry us far away from this God forsaken place.

It's no good, for all of the other places
Are being swallowed up.

Because this place keeps getting bigger.

We are all lost, passengers on a ride...
That comes from no where...
And goes to no where...
We've grown so tired, and have become quite
weary...
Of whatever sad excuse this is...
Why call it life...
Most of us will give up in the end...

Because this place is always getting bigger.

DNB

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
