To Steve and his comrades fighting in Iraq...

Contributed by mina-1 on Tuesday, 10th May 2005 @ 08:15:25 AM in AEST
Topic: war

I hear you're close to danger
That you all need our prayers
On bended knees I go
To make heard your despair

May God keep you all safe
Keep a watchful eye on you
Send down his guardian angels
To help you all get through

Be brave dear comrades
For with our hearts we pray
You're facing all sorts of danger
Each and everyday

May you all be guarded
Against the terror that exists
Heartfelt hopes and wishes
Our prayers surely consist

God bless your hearts
Each and everyday
May he keep you safe from harm
In every single way

On bended knees I get down
Every morning and every night
Sending you all heartfelt prayers
To keep up the strength to fight

Our deepest of wishes
We send your very way
For God to watch out for you
Bringing you safely home someday...

This was a superb write. Not just content, though I think we can never truly appreciate how the soldiers overseas buy us our freedom with their lives (regardless of whatever the political realities of the war are, the soldiers do their job for us) but so well written. I am blatantly envious of your skill :)
