Unkind Time or Slow Motion Shark

I move in a liquid motion,
unaware that the thickning ocean
is congealing all around me.
It is an agent of change,
these strange actions that rearrange
perception, along with thought,
so that my mission bleeds out in tunnel vision.
Schools of fish have passed me by
with nothing more than a weary eye
constantly aware that the shark
is now the bait,
what once was luck,
is now fate,
less random than a lottery ball
becoming contemptous in front of all
the worlds of little fishes.
No one wishes it to be done to others,
but they laugh when others
get shafted, get eaten alive
for refusing to adapt.
Apt pupils have followed the herd,
it's easier to observe
the positive effects.
Staying in the kiddie pool,
everyone suspects,
that you're out of your mind.
But no one could ever guess,
that you've just a shark,
hiding beneath your profile,
bidding your time.
