Dead in Headlights

Three seconds left...
My keys of independance stay in my clasp
A machine named "monster" pulls up fast
Once an innocent task turns terribly wrong
I wink at my fellow walking witnesses looking on
My face in the grill I dont dare put up a fight,
Caught in headlights on a stormy night.
Two seconds left...
Gushing wind cradles my spit-angered panic
A phobia called "four wheels" driven by a hispanic
Colliding with concret now rocks in my mouth
Laid in shock with my own blood all around
Excuses, "no english", driving away dont make it right
Alone in headlights on a stormy night
One second left...
Unmotivated to budge, I cant hear the sirens creeping nearer
Though I dont see much at the moment, its the first i've seen things so clear
I pick out the peices of an unavoidable injury
Then search for my purse and call up an attorney
Blessing in disguise makes me thankful for life
Dead in headlights on a stormy night
