Gibberish

Contributed by FleurdeSang on Monday, 9th May 2005 @ 02:39:05 PM in AEST
Topic: insomniac

Sunday morning lethargy,
Rubbing more sleep into my eyes,
Lullabies of soft rain and Mozart,
Leading me to fantastical dreams…

Fragrances of the past,
Grandma’s warm apple pie,
Soothing lavender hands, Mama’s hands,
Peppermint and tobacco, grandpa’s favorite pink shirt,
Blooming roses, a hint of jasmine,
Me…

Dancing to the rhythm of dreams,
Ballerina spinning tales of freedom,
Piano whispering Clair de Lune in the wind,
My Child of the Moon weeping for Hope,
Lost in a playground of night and fantasies…

Sipping cups of sunshine,
Smiling at nothing,
Gazing down the horizon line,
Quiet contemplations,
Of poetic release…

Reveries of Autumn kisses,
Vagrant solitude,
Dead leaves waltzing a tango of reds and browns and oranges,,
Comforting songs of cool breezes,
And Vivaldi’s Winter, low and somber in the distance…
Instead, I get searing beatings of the merciless sun,
Harsh cries of summer…

Leaping from one world to the next,
Subject by subject, reality to fantasy,
Illusions and dreams, infinite palace of beauty,
My mind…

Monday morning restlessness,
3:44 a.m.…
I blink my eyes, the day is gone,
And I return to my barren home,
To my lonely pen,
So I can bleed,
My ebony gibberish once more…

What can one utter about perfection? This is
exactly what this is perfection, exquisite
perfection. I loved it all although I disagree
that this is gibberish.

Catchy title, but not gibberish at all! I expected to find a bunch of words that make no sense, but what is here instead? A potent combination of memories, combines with images that set me to dreaming of childhood. Lovely write, Stephy!

Ahhhh insomnia ... * kicks it ... hard *

The tiered mind can create some remarkable images ... what impresses me most about you Steph ... is you don't have to be tired to be impressive, and you seem to always manage just that.

Nazzy ~
