Painted roses

Contributed by lostinmyself on Monday, 9th May 2005 @ 12:25:50 PM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

She had tried painting the roses red,
Thinking it would help somehow.
[She had always thought,
White was too innocent anyway.]

And red was how she felt now,
How the blood was pumping in her chest,
And how it wanted to spill.
She could feel it.
It was angry.

She was angry

She had smiled,
When the thorns had pieced her skin,
From clutching the rose too hard.
And as the blood welled up,
She had tasted it
It tasted like betrayal

It was familiar,
Mixing well with the cloying smell
Of the paint.
She could feel her eyes sting,
From pain or fumes, she did not know,
But
It hurt anyway

And the roses,
Were dying,
But the roses,
Were beautiful.

And she was red...

I can relate to this blood soaked poem of pain. Your words always touch me and I know you'll always be around, because we here are your family and you can never get far away from us. Remember, we have a part of you inside our hearts always. We share your grief, and respect you! For whatever reason you are not going to post, I respect that... but a PM every now and then will do me wonders! :-) Love ya Phil!!!! Angel always...joni (((Phil)))

**Jumbo hugs for Phil!**

My dear friend, I haven't known you for too long, but the time that we have spoken, and I've seen you grow with your poetry... I will never forget those moments. A heart-breaking write, dripping with ruthless agony, and morbid yet beautiful images... You write so well, and with such a powerful voice. We will miss you dearly, and your divine words. Glad to hear you are not leaving here forever!! A deliciously dark and painful write, a brief end to your legacy... May you express yourself again soon, and may happiness fill your life. You deserve everything good. All my love, my friend. Forever,

Your ever comforting and dear friend,

Stephy!! *PM away! Don't hesitate, hon. Je t'aime. Aurevoir for now. (huggs)*

A potent painful write, and along with the "anger" it feels sad. I am not sure I understand it all, but I am very moved by your words. I feel sad that you will not be posting; but I respect your decision. I will miss your poems, as I admire your talent and enjoy reading your poetry. I'm trying to learn to be a little more abstract in my writing as well. You will be missed, it's obvious you are very popular.

Peace

Will

OMG. this was an amazing write, your choice of structure and words were impeccable, the feelings portrayed in this poem showed anger with out being angry themselves, brilliant. Sorry to here that you are leaving, I do hope that you accomplich what you set out to do and return to us fulfilled and ready to post more writings as good (or better *lol*) as this one. Be well

I have been here a few times now ... I can't help but think that the site will lose some of itself without your poetry. I hope the decision is reversible and that you once again grace us with your words and their presence. I will miss them Phil. Through them, I will miss a part of you, as well. As has been said before ... I will repeat, just don't stop writing.

Nazzy ~

I've just gotten back to reading some poetry.
This is... amazing.
It's poignant and thought-provoking and --in a way, for some reason-- satisfying.
I love it. I love you, Philomena.

Love and peace,

Chels
