No Prayer for those that need it most

Contributed by Elizabeth_Dandy on Monday, 9th May 2005 @ 05:14:43 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

Is this an oversight? - or whatsoever,
Some folks get gifts - but prayer - never;
Assurances fly high across the site
In comments sweet, that sound aplomb and right.

With prayer promises for such and such,
For him or her and those that want it much,
“I pray for you dear friend,- I pray for you!
And all my family prays for you too".

So many praying for the Fortunate,
Encompassed by so large a family,
Ah could a crumb of all this prayer sate
The prayer hunger of some Elderly.

Assurances are given with each post,
But never for old friends that need it most,
Parbleu!-sacrë- it does not need much wit,
To catch on quickly and to notice it.

New friends indulge in prayers’ blissful shower,
Old friends may find their space in London’s Tower,
Assure new friends of prayerful love and zest,
For prayer for NEW friends is always best!

Should you dear friend need prayer earnestly,
And rouse the sympathy of poet peers,
You must be young , sing with suavity .
No prayers for the Elderly but “Cheers”

Is this what our faith is all about?
New friends get prayer, - old friends are cut out.,
No mention ever made, though e-mails fly,
Some even tell their truest friend "Good-Bye!

Prayer is great, - so very high its cost,
But why not pray for friends that need it most?
Discarded for new friends - more glib and bold,
No prayer for a friend who's getting old,.

nice message, i find it worthwhile when people ask for it and you can actually give it to them.

My dear friend ED,
I can relate to this my friend, I know how very disappointing this can be, this is the way I handle everything, though. I go directly to the source, and ask them why? Many times in older relationships we take advantage of the familiarity.....and they just assume that we know they are going to pray for us, but, by talking it over with them, then you will know....for sure.
People can be so cruel!!!!
I always pray for you ED and always will if I don't state it often enough, you can tell by a person's actions whether they love you enough to remember you in their prayers
Warm Love, and prayers
consue
Beautifully written poem........such a nice outlet for us to write down, and then forget! Get it off our chest so to speak!

Maybe not as bad as sometimes believed, are those forgotten by old friends. I have felt your prayers offered in my behalf on every occasion I needed god’s special grace, or attention. Old friends never forget their old friends. Take them for granted? Occasionally! But, forget them? Never!

Your old friends are always on the tip of your tongue. How could two become old friends without often thinking of, and praying for, those friends who have outlasted time itself?

Man, unlike his Lord, is a poor Shepherd, with lousy skills in management . . . but not one who forgets his friends (often, his only touch with reality) who are so important to him. As unsure as mankind’s path may be . . . I prefer to think of a created mass of humanity who never forget friends, or family.

Always . . . kindness and prayers for those in need of kindness and prayers. But who can forget those who have stayed the course though the tough times until we arrived at the exact spot we now occupy?

Pray for those who have needs. Special prayers for those whose needs we already know.

In loving friendship …..
John

Blessed be
Family
New friends I meet
Generations before me
Those I seldom see
Old friends dear
The stranger
Those across the many sea
Especially for E Dandy
Your poem is very nice
Making me feel somewhat contrite
