The Fall

Contributed by Maxximus on Sunday, 8th May 2005 @ 10:26:42 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

"It is like the blinded eye of an artist opened for the first time"

Sudden
Violent
Painful
Where once compassion and peace held sway
I no longer enjoy these lies
Illusions no longer protect
Inject reality

Once enjoyed- now denied
And finally I see it was me
I am the master of my own lies

Time stops for no man
Save he who is suffering, he who holds the razor
Chasams deep and wide
The gashes on my mind
Oh, if pain were blind as these eyes were cleared

Running away from myself even as my steps fall side by side
I am fallen
I am lost but not yet broken
Excuse these flaws merciful "I"
Nature is hard to escape

As we understand it is human to fall, but it is divine to fall and deny the fact
To have gone so far down that dead end road never seeing it's end
I cannot pretend ignorance for I have no right, no place
I am nowhere, I am nothing, I am gone
But still I see if only in shades of the past
Blinded by an uncertain future

It is odd to me how one standing so low can fall so far

oh this is brilliant work, one of the best ive read in a while
we all fall it is certain, but yes it sometimes seems the weaker ones fall further
i love the last stanza
"I am nowhere, I am nothing, I am gone
But still I see if only in shades of the past
Blinded by an uncertain future"
sounds EXACTLY like me, i can relate
very good job
